This is Micah Sherman's first custom instrument, the Space Chick violin (so named because of the Martian ladies on the sides of the spine). Special features include the incorporation of a flame motif in the bout, scroll, and shell; custom artwork with incorporated illumination; holographic film designs incorporated into the lacquer finish; a special knob that adjusts the high treble to allow use with a wireless transducer for live performances; and a scroll-mounted red laser for use in smoky clubs. I then upgraded the instrument with a new flame-shaped bout (see the last picture); it is stained deep blue, and includes lights that activate and change colors in response to the music (the lights inside the flame cutouts start blue, and when the bridge detects playing, these lights change to purple while blue lights illuminate around the outside of the bout).
