The Skull violin features an illuminated skull design in the fingerboard and light-up bones around the edge of the bout. It is played by Aci of the Japanese goth band, The Royal Dead. The neck is three inches longer than on a standard full-size violin, but the overall body length remains unchanged (just like the Giraffe violin).

Note the concept sketch, which E. F. Keebler drew to show Aci the proposed design for the violin. Such sketches, which may go through many revisions, are a key part of the collaborative design process that ensures that the client will be happy with the appearance of the completed instrument.
