Contact information
You can reach Eric at
or
if you have any questions or if you would like to place an order (please read the rest of this page first). We ask that you refrain from posting this contact information on other websites, adding us to any mailing lists, or sending us links to any site that requires us to create a profile before we can see your message or pictures.
Our mailing/shipping address is: EFKMI LLC, PO Box 5339, Wilmington, DE 19808-0339. Carefully-packed instruments should be sent, with full-value insurance, to this address through USPS Registered Mail only, and will be delivered to a post office where they will be kept secure until we can pick them up.
We strongly advise against sending us anything through UPS or FedEx. Reasons include, but are not limited to: severe abuse of packages in transit; permanently "lost" packages, sometimes in conjunction with forged delivery-confirmation signatures by delivery staff; frequent failures of customer-service reps and their supervisors to carry out promised remedies when problems occur; and refusal to pay insurance claims without a lengthy and very ugly fight. If you absolutely insist on using one of these shippers, we can provide an alternate shipping address (they will not deliver to a PO Box); however, be warned that, in the likely event that any problems arise, you will be billed $75 per hour for any time we must spend dealing with insurance claims, picking up packages delivered to the wrong address, or any other issues that will occur due to your choice of shipper.
Our workshop is located in a private residence and is not open to visitors.
Custom instruments
If you are interested in placing an order for a custom instrument, please click here (right-click and choose "Save As" or the equivalent) to download a PDF file containing important information and policies concering the ordering process. Please read this document before contacting us with questions about your order, and note that we that require that you print, sign, and date a copy of this document and return it to us before any work can begin on your instrument, regardless of your previous order history or other circumstances.
Ready-to-buy instruments
We do not currently have any available instruments in stock and are working only on custom orders at this time. A new basic violin model will be available at a major online electric-violin retailer in 2010.
Used instruments
Used E. F. Keebler instruments of any age and in good, playable condition may be traded-in for 50% off the base price of a new instrument. We do not accept trade-ins of instruments made by others.
We almost never have used instruments on hand that are available for sale; if we do, they will be listed on this website. No instruments listed on this site means that none are available directly from us at the present time.
Caution is advised when buying used E. F. Keebler instruments from anyone other than us or one of our authorized retailers (all of which are listed on this website). It is quite common for sellers to describe an instrument's feature set incorrectly or to erroneously claim that an older instrument is identical to our current models in tone, features, ergonomics, or monetary value. For this reason, you should contact us before committing to the purchase and tell us the instrument number so that we can provide you with an accurate description of the instrument as we shipped it (note that instruments may have been damaged or modified by others after their sale, which is of course beyond our control). Also keep in mind that, for structural reasons, there is only a limited amount of upgrade work we can do to older instruments - it is not always possible (or economically practical for the buyer) to have us make extensive changes to an older instrument. Having said that, many buyers are very happy with our used instruments - we can evaluate an instrument's specifications and your playing needs and let you know if the instrument is right for you. Also, a used instrument is often worth as much as (or more than) its purchase price as a trade-in towards a new instrument, and many buyers have started out with a used instrument and eventually traded up to a new custom instrument.
